How to Import from LinkedIn
You can import data from LinkedIn in two ways: connecting your account via OAuth, or uploading a PDF export. For the most complete import, use both methods.
Method 1: Connect via OAuth
The quickest way to get started. Connecting your LinkedIn account imports:
- Name — your first and last name
- Profile picture — your LinkedIn photo
To connect: go to the Import page, click Connect LinkedIn, and authorize the connection. Your data will be imported automatically.
Method 2: Upload LinkedIn PDF
For a more complete import including your work history and education, upload your LinkedIn profile as a PDF. Here's how to download it:
- Go to your LinkedIn profile page
- Click the More button (next to "Open to")
- Select Save to PDF
- Save the downloaded file
Then on the Import page, click Upload LinkedIn PDF and select the file. This imports:
- Education — degrees, institutions, and dates
- Work experience — positions, companies, and dates
Which Method Should I Use?
For the best results, use both methods. OAuth gives you your name and profile picture, while the PDF import brings in your education and experience history. They complement each other.
